Topics students study include history of film and tv, interviewing, news story writing and script types, cameras and framing a shot and camera support equipment, audio, lighting, editing and storytelling. Culinary Arts is a course designed to introduce students to fundamental food
preparation terms, concepts, and methods in Culinary Arts where laboratory practice will parallel
class work. Fundamental techniques, skills, and terminology are covered and mastered with an
emphasis on basic kitchen and dining room safety, sanitation, equipment maintenance and
operation procedures. Course also provides an overview of the professionalism in the culinary
industry and career opportunities leading into a career pathway to Culinary Arts.
Engineering and Technology Students will develop fundamental technological literacy as they learn about th ehistory, systems, and precesses of invention and innovation. This course includes individual, team and group activities. Students will learn to design technical solutions to engineering problems using a whole systems approach to engineering design. Students will demonstrate the application of mathematical tools, teamwork, and communications skills in solving various design challenges, while maintaining a safe work environment.
Early Childhood Care & Education students will learn the skills, attitudes and behaviors associated with supporting and promoting optimal growth and development of infants and children. Topics covered are the principles of physical, emotional, social, intellectual and morel growth and development; ages and stages of childhood; prenatal development; the impact of heredity and home and community environments; roles, responsibilities and challenges of parenthood.
Business & Technology is a foundations course for the Business & Technology and Entrepreneurship Career Pathways. It is also appropriate for students enrolled in any Career Pathway who plan to own and operate their own businesses. The course will help students build a strong knowledge base and develop management skills as they study forms of business ownership, functions of management, budgeting and finance, technology, communications, legislation, leadership and teamwork, marketing, and economics. Mastery of these standards through project-based learning and leadership development activities of the Career and Technical Student Organizations will help prepare students with a competitive edge for the global marketplace.

possibilities and discussion of ethical issues relating to graphic communications and

Horticulture and Plant Science is designed as an introduction course for the Agriscience Pathway Program of Study. The course introduces the major areas of scientific agricultural production and research; presents problem solving lessons and introductory skills and knowledge in agricultural science and agri-related technologies. This course begins with a study of various careers in public safety. The course will explore the history and development of law enforcement in the United States. Students will then examine the components of the criminal justice system, including the roles and responsibilities of the police, courts, and corrections.
Additionally, students will learn the classification and elements of crimes. Students will receive instruction in critical skill areas including communicating with diverse groups, conflict resolution, the use of force continuum, report writing, operation of police and emergency equipment, and courtroom testimony. Career planning and employability skills will be emphasized.

Marketing Principles addresses all the ways in which marketing satisfies consumer and business needs and wants for products and services. Students develop an understanding of the functions of marketing and how these functional areas affect all businesses. They learn basic marketing concepts and the role of marketing in our economy.
